What you see now is the first phase of what will soon become an interactive grassroots internet television station featuring original documentary episodes about music. Our first series is called “The Vineyard Scene” where we profile the amazing music scene of Martha’s Vineyard. You can support both DocuTunes.TV and our independent artists by purchasing great music and merchandise through our DocuTunes.TV Store.
We are posting a new episode of “The Vineyard Scene” every Tuesday. Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be building the site with episodes, a blog, pictures, and more. Now that you’re here, why don’t you become a regular? Bookmark us, give us feedback, share our programming with your friends, and subscribe to our pages. There’s a lot of great content to come! The Vineyard Scene includes episodes about Kate Taylor, Carly Simon, Ben Taylor, David Saw, Isaac Taylor, Mary Steenburgen and more.
DocuTunes began 3 years ago as a dream by my husband and me. We are documentary filmmakers and music lovers, and it seemed to make sense to combine these two passions. For decades, suits in corporate music have decided what was worthy of hearing based on their the bottom line, and for decades, traditional TV outlets has decided what stories were worth telling. This is no longer the case. We live in a world where media makers and music makers alike can share incredible content with the world. We’re taking that opportunity and running with it.

I have been tuning into docutunes.tv now for several Tuesdays in a row to catch the new episodes. I have been blown away every time. This latest one about Mary Steenburgen’s song for Wendy and Marguerite is a jewel, a sparkling gem. Thank you for the fine work you do.
Feel the same way as Kate. Thank you for showing what a
rich musical heritage the island of Martha’s Vineyard still
has to this day . The music scene on this island are stories
worth telling !
The site looks great guys! Keep doing what your doing. Looking forward to future episodes.
How lucky am I to have found this site. Weepingly walked away from Martha’s Vineyard on August 1 after two beautiful weeks with my wonderful family….what does this site remind me of? Noooooo, not the snoots with cashola ………! But rather that fat loud black crow cawking loudly at 5:30 am, “wake up, wake up! Time to walk your dog on Lamberts Cove beach, barefoot, bike rides, Uncle Seths warm water, green trees and hot sand!”
Thanks, all, for your comments! We’re really excited to see that people who know the Vineyard well are appreciating that part of the island culture that is captured in the series. It’s also wonderful to know that people who have never been to the island can see that same spirit and connect with it.

thank you so very much for making this website. I’ve been going to Martha’s Vineyard with my family for the last 15 years, and a big fan of the singer-songwriters of the island. I had the priveledge of running into david saw and ben taylor on the island, and they are both very friendly and sweet people. The island is full of such brilliant talent, and it’s a place of remarkable beauty and inspiration. Im so glad i stumbled upon this site, and will continue to check back frequently!:) As a songwriter myself, it gives me great inspiration to see the musicians and the very special island they call home. Thank you! -Renee
